The influence of nitrogen fertilizers on the pollution of water
The paper shows the unfavourable trend in the application of nitrogen fertilizers on the example of five selected drainage areas in ČSR, apart from the influence of their increasing amounts on the portion of nitrates in flows as well as drinking water. The amount of applied fertilizers depends directly upon the growth of vegetable production in these areas. Certain definite measures are recommended to reduce or remove the danger of negative effects of industrial fertilizers, or some other detrimental substances produced by human activities.
