Mushroom rocks in sandstones of the Broumovská vrchovina (Highland)

Jan Vítek

The author describes mushroom rocks as the mesoforms of the relief produced by geomorphological agents. They are typical forms with caps sheltering their lower parts (bases), to be found especially in sandstones, conglomerates, sometimes also granodiorites, rarely in other rooks. This paper treats of the regional distribution and the morphogenesis of mushroom rocks in the Upper Cretaceous (especially Turonian) block sandstones of the Broumovská vrchovina (Highland) situated in the north-eastern part of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
