Regional Development Theories: A Vicious Circle?

The recent upsurge of interest in regional development issues in the Czech Republic is hindered by a lack of understanding of the recent progress in regional development theories. This article provides a comparative analysis of the main theories. Several basic parameters are identified in each theory by means of which the regional development theories are classified into several groups and briefly discussed.
