The Labe canyon valley in the Děčínská vrchovina Highland is the erosion base of the major part of the river network in the Bohemian Massif. The authors describe the development of this valley since the Neogene up to the present time, mainly with regard to the interference of the morphotectonic and climate-morphogenetic impairing of its slopes. Furthermore, the relation between the progressive development of the antecedent Labe valley in the Děčínská vrchovina Highland towards the strategically significant systems of river sediments of the Bohemian rivers and sediments of the North-European continental glaciation is discussed.
