The 90th birthday anniversary of Professor Jaromír Korčák, Laureate of the Order of Labour
Professor Jaromír Korčák [born on July 12, 1895 in Vražné, Svitavy distr.), the nestor of Czechoslovak geographers celebrated his 90th birthday anniversary. He was professor at the Charles University, chairman of the Czechoslovak Geographical Society of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, chairman of the National Geographical Committee, editor of the Journal of the Czechoslovak Geographical Society. He is the author of many books on social and economic geography and demography, the list of which was published in this journal in between 1965-1980. At present, professor J. Korčák lives in retirement in Prague. He is still active in the geographical science as well as demography.
