Hierarchical structure of districts in ČSR

Miroslav Hrdlička

The paper is concerned with the determination of hierarchical linkage of dominant migration flows among 76 districts in the Czech Socialist Republic (ČSR) in the years 1961-1980 (in 4 five-year periods) by means of a transformed method of dominating flows (originally by J. D. Nystuen and M. F. Dacey) from the domain of theory of graphs. In the paper is included a discussion of the selected national and foreign literature in the intention of outlining the development of the basic directions in the research of the migration of the population.
