Heavy industry in Czechoslovak environment

The application of geographical research to the regional planning problems can be very useful for national economy. One of the results of cooperation between Institute of Geography of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Regional Planning Department of Federal Ministry of Metallurgy and Heavy Engineering is the Collection of maps [in the 1:1 mil. scale) dealing with Regional structure of Czechoslovak economy, Water resources, Environmental factors, Manpower development to 2000, Railway output and Location of metallurgy and heavy engineering industry. Some new progressive cartographical methods have been developed.
