The exact evaluation of changes of the landscape
From data obtained from maps illustrating land exploitation the author tries to state the exact proportion of changes having taken place in the area under study. He describes the method of transforming the map illustration into numerical form, apart from the criteria applied in the evaluation of the intensity of regional changes. There are five degrees in the scale of evaluation: no change, slight change, considerable change, big change, thorough change (Fig. 6). At the same time six grades of classification may be applied to characterize the equilibrium of the region: very good, good, altered, disturbed, man-controlled technical complexes (Fig. 1, 2, 3).
