Characteristic Levels of Subsurface Water and Its Position in the Area Under Investigation in Profile HP 201
The author treats in short of the organisation of observations of underground water in our country. He fixes the main tasks to be undertaken to satisfy the general need of some data on the regime of subsurface water. He deals with the most important results achieved in the investigation of one of the profiles that belong to the system under investigation on the territory of Moravia. Before all, he is interested in determining the longest time of duration of some of the most characteristic levels of subsurface water. He describes the situation in between 1941 and 1955, a period typical with long-lasting very high or, on the contrary, very low levels. The determination of the periods of duration of these levels in individual hydrological years together with the determination of the time of occurence of highest and lowest annual levels contributed much to the knowledge of annual oscillations of the level of the surface and, compared with the precipitation and drainage conditions, helped to discover the cause of their occurence.
