Kořenského 1, 150 00 Praha 5, Czechia

The Elbe Sandstones Protected Area is situated on one of the two main Central European biocorridors. The stream corridor of the Elbe River forms the only connection between the Bohemian and North European Lowlands and it is the only interruption of the Bohemian border mountains. Specific environmental conditions of this area are influenced not only by the intersection effect but also by the sandstone, river and summit phenomena, which provide very suitable conditions for ecological and biogeographical studies.
