The Geography of Education in Czechoslovakia and Abroad

The author presents a survey of the development of the Geography of Education, which has been developing in different countries of the world since the World War II. The subject of the research are geographical problems, location patterns of schools and the level of public education. The paper indicates the initial stages of research in individual countries. Czechoslovak geographers have been studying the location pattern of educational institutes and schools, and the level of the education of the population. The results of their studies are mainly represented in cartographic form.
