The birth centenary of Professor J. V. Daneš
The author recalis J. V. Daneš, the founder of the Czechoslovak geomorphology, Professor at Charles University in Prague, who lost his life in a street accident in Los Angeles on April 11, 1928. J. V. Daneš became well-known especially by his pioneer works on the tropical karst in Jamaica, Java and Australia which have been acknowledged as a great contribution to the world geography.
