The annual review of national and international works on Czechoslovakia presents a wide selection of articles, papers, books, maps and other geographical and regional writings on the Czechoslovak territory published in the last year (exceptionally in 1971 that are denoted *). General theoretical and methodical studies by Czech and Slovak authors only contain the system of GENERAL GEOGRAPHY. The regional system of CZECHOSLOVAKIA is divided into four sections and seven parts. The works covering the whole Czechoslovak, Czech or Slovak territory are designated as Generalities (including the studies of Central Europe e. t. c.). The section of Physical Geography is divided into the part of Geomorphology, and the part of Climatology, Hydrology, Biogeography, Pedology. The section of Human Geography distinguishes the part of Population, Settlements, and the part of Economics which contains the manufacturing, agricultural and other economic geography. The publications of complex regional or local character get into the section of Regional Works. It is now divided in the part Landscape and Regionalization including the regional problems of environment, and the part Guide-books and Maps. The Bibliography of Czechoslovak Geography has been developed in the Central Geographical Library of Charles University, under collaboration of Geographical Institutes in the Czechoslovak and Slovak Academy of Sciences and Bibliographical Department of National Library with assistence of Slovenská kartografia Bratislava, Kartografie Praha and Central Archives of Geodesy and Cartography. This annual review presents the basic source of BIBLIOGRAPHIE GÉOGRAPHIQUE INTERNATIONALE published under the auspices of I. G. U.
