Xth Jubilee Congress of Czechoslovak Geographers in Prešov, Slovakia

The authors present a complete report on the proceedings of the Xth Jubilee Congress of Czechoslovak Geographes which took place from Sept. 2nd to 5th, 1965 in Prešov, Slovakia, and was organized by the Prešov branch of the Czechoslovak Geographical Society. Several geographers from abroad took part. Special accounts were delivered in five sections as follows: 1. East Slovakia. - 2. Geographical regionalization. - 3. School geography. - 4. Study fo small regions. - 5. Foreign section. In a final resolution the Czechoslovak geographers claimed besides other an improved position for geography at Czechoslovak primary and elementary schools, and the introduction of post-graduate studies for teachers of geography. Two excursions were on the programme of the congress, one the area of Spiš and the High Tatras, the other over the Vihorlat Mountain to the East Slovakian Lowlands. Next Congress of Czechoslovak Geographers is going to take place in 1968 in Olomouc, Moravia.
