Global development features of demographic reproduction in light of theory of stages
The main objective of the study is to verify and discover the relationship between the global character of human development and the development of demographic reproduction. In the paper we use the dataset of 194 countries from 1950, 1970, 1990 and 2010. We apply the frequently used human development index to describe the degree of overall development. We develop and apply the “index of development of demographic reproduction” as an indicator of development of demographic reproduction. We compare both the indexes. The second objective is to confront and face the demographic development with the theory of stages.
