The Děčín District and Its Main Problems

The article deals with the Děčín District in current boundaries. Basic geographical data is mentioned. Landscape development, settlement structure, economic conditions, population and population structure, housing, and living level are examined. Most data come from the 1991 census. The future economic and political transformation is estimated. Both natural conditions and human sources are taken into consideration, as well as the location and cross-boundary cooperation.
