Expert Systems and Their Cartographic Applications
Expert systems are computer programs for reconstructing the expertise within a limited domain. They are able to replace the work of a qualified specialist. Such systems have complicated internal architecture. Many types of expert systems have been developed for different disciplines. Cartographic expert systems are primarily used in label placement and in some procedures of generalization.
